'Words' from yesterday and today

A word given by David Minor back in 1987 alongside recent words from David Noakes, Peter Horrobin and Peter Brookar.

What follows is a recent word from Peter Brokaar who is the Director of Ellel Scotland at Blairmore House. It was given to him over the occasion of successive storms which brought down many of the great trees on the small estate in which Blairmore sits.
Alongside what Peter Brokaar his written, are the following links to three other 'words':-

In last week’s storm, the morning of 17th February, we lost many more trees, including some of our biggest, oldest and most beautiful firs. This devastation had a big impact on me and I felt very down because of it. But this morning I felt God started to speak to me through it.

The trees at Blairmore House
Blairmore trees

Fallen treesWe had already lost many trees in the storms during the winter of 21/22, which caused huge devastation in our woods. During Ellel’s International Leaders Conference, April ’22, two different people prophesied that God was speaking through these fallen trees and that we would not be able to clear them until we knew what God’s purpose was with them.

In September ’22 someone from the Prayer group ‘Global Family Prayer’ gave a similar word, that God was speaking through these fallen trees about the state of the church. I felt this was confirmation but had not heard anything from the Lord directly myself.

This morning as I walked around I felt God kept asking me “What about the standing trees?” But I did not know how to respond. I was feeling really down and even devastated because of all the beautiful trees which had fallen and which now caused another major challenge for Blairmore.

In Church God started to speak to me. He showed me these great fallen trees represent the great Church institutions and that many will fall in the coming storms. He reminded me of the standing trees and then I remembered a dream I had last night.

God has been preparing many small but strong groups of people who will take the place of those few fallen trees.

In this dream someone came to me and said: “I have counted all the standing trees at Blairmore over 3 feet tall, and they are between 3000 and 5000 in number". In my dream I did not know what to do with this information, but now I started to realise that God has been preparing many small but strong groups of people who will take the place of those few fallen trees.

Instead of devastation I could see that God (who caused this devastation) has been planning to build Church in a new way. Small, humble, flexible groups will replace the tall and stately large churches. They had their time and their purpose but are not for the new season which will involved relentless storms. Instead of feeling depressed, I started to get excited about God’s plan and His future for His people in the UK.
